UTAX updates DIN A3 portfolio

Nuremberg, 01.07.2022. UTAX is launching two new DIN A3 b/w multifunctional systems (MFPs) as successors to existing models on the German market: the MFPs 3263i and 4063i are now available from UTAX dealers. They replace the previous 3262i and 4062i systems, which were launched in 2018. The new 3263i and 4063i monochrome multifunctional systems feature extensive improvements that are already being used in the rest of the UTAX A3 family: a modernized user interface, enhanced security functions, optimized scanning functionalities and an adaptation to the environmental requirements of the Blue Angel DE-UZ 219. This means that the entire DIN A3 portfolio (systems with up to 70 pages per minute) of the medium-sized IT solution provider now has a uniform product concept.

A concept for the DIN A3 product family

"A standardized product concept is always an important argument in public tenders," says Philipp Wanner, Product Manager at UTAX. "With our eleven DIN A3 MFPs, we can now cover everything from the 25 to 70 pages per minute speed segments. We use the same printer drivers in the portfolio, the same embedded web server and there is no longer a mix of user interfaces. This uniformity makes handling our devices even easier and more intuitive for users."

With the two new DIN A3 b/w multifunctional systems 3263i and 4063i, UTAX is adding to the DIN A3 b/w series (5058i, 6058i, 7058i) launched in November 2021. Together with these professional mono DIN A3 MFPs, the six DIN A3 color MFPs 2508ci, 3508ci, 4008ci, 5008ci, 6008ci and 7008ci were also launched last autumn. An overview of the multifunctional systems from UTAX can be found here.

Standardized operation

The user interface of the DIN A3 b/w MFP consists of a 10'1" display across the entire product segment. Simplified menu navigation and a modernized display enable fast and intuitive operation, similar to a smartphone. The LED lights on the output tray are also new. They flash when printouts are forgotten. A good user service, especially for confidential documents.

Contemporary security

The current UTAX DIN A3 b/w portfolio also offers the highest level of security. The Data Security Kit, certified to ISO 15408 EAL2, ensures that confidential information is protected at system level by overwriting and encrypting copy, scan and print data several times before it is saved to the hard disk. In addition, the output data memory is automatically deleted so that the information cannot be recovered.

Document digitization with "high-speed scanning"

Companies that want to drive forward the digitization of documents need high-performance scanners. The current UTAX DIN A3 product family, including the two newly released DIN A3 b/w MFPs, therefore has a new optional dual scanner. With the "high-speed scanning" function, the systems are ten percent faster. The 3263i and 4063i A3 b/w MFPs can scan up to 200 image pages per minute in this mode.

The modern scanning functions also include the system recognizing when documents are still stapled together or when several sheets are fed in at the same time. When scanning books (or magazines), the system automatically corrects the inclination of the pages, which would otherwise be caused by the spine of the book. If several small-format documents are to be scanned, the so-called "MultiCropScan" function straightens each document individually.

Multifunctional systems meet environmental requirements

In order to meet the current environmental requirements of the Blue Angel DE-UZ 219, the composition of the toner has been adapted. In addition, the TEC values (Typical Energy Consumption) have been reduced by 0.05 kilowatt hours (kWh) compared to the previous models.
